Behold Satan 2

Image
At a time when the world hopes for a lasting peace in a time like this when chaos is the only thing the news has to offer. The world’s “biggest bully” yet flaunts their muscles again. The Russians introduce the world the deadliest weapon known to man, the RS-28 Sarmat missile: Satan 2. Different civilizations and religions have predicted the end of time as we know it. They call it different names; apocalypses, end time and so on. But we are sure of one thing, there is end. If God doesn’t destroy the world, men will with their civilization and industrialization. Should men fall, Satan 2 will finish the job. The Satan 2 warhead is the deadliest ICSM yet conceived by the genius human mind. It is said that a single lunch of the weapon is able to decimate a land area that’s the size of France. The weapon can deploy warheads of 40 megatons, or about 2,000 times as powerful as the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagaski in 1945(the most devastating nuke attack yet seen), sa...

TEENAGER BURNT FOR BEDWETTING

One Mrs Roseline Uzoamaka has been arrested by the Dutsen Alhaji Police Division of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, for brutalising her 14-year-old relative, Sarah (her sister-in-law). According to reports, Uzoamaka forced the teenager to sit on a burning electric cooker until the girl sustained severe burns in her private parts as a punishment for urinating on the bed last Saturday, August 23, at the family’s residence in Gwarimpa, Abuja. In her statement to the police, Uzoamaka confessed that she did this because some friends had advised her that the way to make her bedwetting sister-in-law recover from the problem was to make her sit on a hot stove. After the girl’s private part was affected by the heat, she was said to have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment the same day – where she’s still recuperating. The Abuja Police Command Public Relations Officer, Altine Daniel, confirmed the arrest saying, “Yes, the woman has been arrested. She told the police...

MEN DISCHARGED FROM EBOLA SHOULD ABSTAIN FROM INTERCOURSE

Image
The Federal Ministry of Health has advised men who were treated and discharged of Ebola virus to avoid sexual intercourse for at least seven weeks. Dr Bridget Okoeguale, Director, Department of Public Health, gave the advice during interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday. Okoeguale said this was in line with protocols issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO). “There are many literatures that say that after men are infected, when the virus is not found in the blood, it tends to stay in the semen for about seven weeks to three months. “What we did according to the WHO protocol is that we made sure that when the men are discharged they are given enough condoms, if they cannot abstain for that period. “We advise them to abstain from sex but where they cannot abstain, they are provided condoms and after the (abstinence) period, we double test to make sure they are free,” she said. On the treatment of Ebola patients, Okoeguale said no drugs or vaccina...

HOW THE LIBERIAN GOVERMENT CLEARED THE MAN WHO BROUGHT EBOLA TO NIGERIA

Image
Documents obtained by sahara reporters showed that Mr. Sawyer’s employers, ArcelorMittal, an iron mining company, suspended him from work and isolated him after it became aware that he had contact with his sister who died of the virus on July 8. The company also issued an internal memo to staff of the company informing them that Mr. Sawyer had been referred to the Liberian Health ministry for testing and close observation. The Liberian Government was aware that Patrick Sawyer, its citizen who brought the Ebola virus into Nigeria, had possibly contracted the virus from his late sister, yet cleared him to travel to Nigeria for a conference organised by the Economic Community of West African States [ECOWAS], PREMIUM TIMES can authoritatively report today. Documents obtained by this newspaper showed that Mr. Sawyer’s employers, ArcelorMittal, an iron mining company, suspended him from work and isolated him after it became aware that he had contact with his sister who died of the virus on J...

WINDOWS WELCOME BBM

Image
BlackBerry Ltd said on Thursday its popular messaging system BBM, or BlackBerry Messenger, would now be open to those using the Windows phone platform, a move that potentially makes the messaging service more appealing to its enterprise clients. BlackBerry has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to bring BBM™ to Windows Phone 8 and higher as it continues its resurgence strategy. BlackBerry, which is seeking to reinvent itself as a more software and services driven company as its smartphone market share has dwindled, has been lately touting new BBM features in a bid to make it a more viable messaging tool for clients such as corporations and government agencies that are on the lookout for a secure messaging service. The company, last year, opened the service to phones powered by Google Inc's wildly popular Android operating system and Apple's iOS platform. The rollout to the Windows phone platform means the service is now available on all major smartphone platforms, makin...

THE EBOLA CURE

A Nigerian doctor based in the United States, Maurice Iwu, has claimed that Garcinia kola, popularly called bitter cola in West Africa may be a possible drug against the deadly Ebola virus. Bitter cola, a staple health fruit in Nigeria, was reported to have stopped the virus at test tube experiments. The virus has so far killed more than 600 victims since its outbreak in Guinea, with Nigeria’s only recorded death being that of Liberian consultant, Patrick Sawyer, who died in Lagos last week. An Inquirer Washington Bureau reported Iwu who made this discovery, as saying that a cure could be sourced from the same African forests where the disease was identified. Iwu is a doctor with a combination of folk-remedy expertise and a doctorate in Western pharmacology. He is also the Executive Director of the Bioresources Development and Conservation Programme, and a consultant at Walter Reed Army Hospital in suburban Washington. One of the top infectious-disease laboratories in the US was s...

JAMB CUT-OFF MARKS HAVE BEEN RELEASED

The Federal Government, in consultation with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has pegged the cutoff marks for 2014 admissions into universities at 180, while polytechnics and colleges of education were put at 150, respectively as stipulated last year. The cutoff points were arrived at on Tuesday (yesterday), after the 5th edition of the Combined Policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions, held at the National Universities Commission, FCT. The Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, who declared the meeting open, frowned on the inability of most tertiary institutions to utilise their admission quota. Wike, however, said in view of efforts to boost access, institutions which failed to utilise their admission quota for 2014 would be sanctioned. He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to the development of ICT training, which he said, had already been inculcated into the standard curriculum at the secondary school level. He said, “I have been...

KESHI IS STILL EAGLE'S COACH

After Monday's super eagles loss to France, alongside Enyeama and Yobo retirement from the National football team, Rumours have been going around that Steven Keshi (the big boss) had retired. Even though Keshi said: "It's time for me to go back to my family and face fresh challenges." An NFF spokesman has come out and said: "Coach Keshi has not submitted an official resignation letter. He was not employed in the mixed zone [after the France game] or on Facebook." He was also quoted from a different source to have said: ““What I said to my players was that this may be my last match at the helm of affairs in the national team, because my contract terminates with the World Cup and I have not been offered a new one. “I was a bit shocked that the global media went to town to say I have called it quits with the national team. Resignations are not done on the pages of newspapers but formally,” he said. It has also been ascertained that Keshi does not have a T...

YOBO IS OUT OF THE SUPER EAGLES SQUARD

Probably as a result of the own goal scored by our super eagle football player or for other reason not yet reviled, Joseph Yobo of the super eagles has resigned from the national football team. Speaking after the loss to France in the second round of 2014 FIFA World Cup, the Eagles' coach said it was time for him to move on after leading the team to the victory at 2013 AFCON and reaching the play-off of the 2014 Mundial. "I have to go back to my family and face fresh challenges." Yobo, who has celebrated his 100th cap as part of the national team exactly during this world tournament, announced his leave explaining he had done everything he could for the Eagles: "I think I should give the younger ones the opportunity to forge ahead. I have nothing new to offer." Interestingly, the immediate reports after the Nigeria vs France match said that when Keshi was asked about his future plans in the Nigerian team, he replied he didn't know whether he would sta...

THE YOUNGEST NUCLEAR SCIENTIST TO MAKE A NUCLEAR REACTOR

A teen scientist from Penwortham, England, has become the youngest person in the world to build a functioning nuclear fusion reactor. Jamie Edwards, 13, constructed the reactor from scratch to beat the 2008 record of American Taylor Wilson, who was 14 when he built his reactor. Edwards didn’t have much time to spare as he turns 14 on Sunday; the reactor was completed on Tuesday and it worked successfully the following day when two atoms of hydrogen smashed together to form helium. “Yesterday I successfully achieved fusion at 11:30 am, this was brilliant! I am waiting from fusor.net for confirmation that I have actually done fusion but looking at the results I am almost certain I have… The reactor consists of many parts, some of the main ones include the vacuum pumps, high voltage supply, vacuum chamber and deutirium system,” Edwards wrote on his blogon Thursday. Edwards received help from his classmates and his head teacher with the project. “One day, I was looking on the Internet...

ENEMIES OF THE OZONE

When we say the earth is save, we don't mean 100%, we mean a little over 50%. The earth doesn't need the rapture or amageddon or apocalypse to end it, the activities of man will. At the rate we are going, the earth will end up operating at the same temperature that brought Venus to its present state. Scientists have detected four new man-made gases that damage the Earth’s protective ozone layer, despite bans on almost all production of similar gases under a 1987 treaty, a study showed on Sunday. The experts were trying to pinpoint industrial sources of tiny traces of the new gases, perhaps used in making pesticides or refrigerants, that were found in Greenland’s ice and in air samples in Tasmania, Australia. The ozone layer shields the planet from damaging ultra-violet rays, which can cause skin cancer and eye cataracts, and has been recovering after a phase-out of damaging chemicals under the U.N.’s 1987 Montreal Protocol. “The concentrations are not yet a threat to the o...

THE MOTHER WHO BURNT HER DAUGHTER'S BUTTOCKS

A woman in her 30's, Ene Edem Okon, has been arrested by the police for child abuse and allegedly inflicting bodily harm and tying her 11-year-old daughter, Queeneth Ene Edem, hands and legs for being wayward. She was arrested when Queeneth appeared in her school, Government Primary School, Akim, with multiple wounds on her chest, stomach and buttocks prompting the school authorities to report the matter to the police at the Akim Police Station. The girl narrated to Sunday Vanguard that, on February 17, she left home at Eneyo village in Akpabuyo Local Government Area for the Maternity Junction Settlement, some four kilometers away from home, to meet her cousin, Blessing, but did not return home. “We were waiting for Blessing’s friend from whom she wanted to collect something but she delayed in coming and we waited till night and, because we were afraid of going back home, we slept in an uncompleted building at the Maternity Junction”, she said. The 11-year-old said the next day, ...

MEET A KNOWN ENEMY OF WATER

It is said that water has no enemy but i think she is against some 35 people in the world if the drowned victims are not considered. Meet the woman who is trapped indoors every time it rains due to a rare condition that means she’s allergic to water. Rachel Prince, 26, from Ripley in England has been unable to go outdoors the past month as a single drop of rainfall will cause a painful itchy red rash. Recent weather conditions — some of the wettest to hit the UK in 200 years — have seen Rachel housebound. And she can’t even seek comfort from her fiance Lee Warwick, 28, because the saliva from a kiss also causes a reaction. Rachel’s condition, Aquagenic pruritis, means even a few drops of saliva from Lee could bring out an extremely itchy prickling-like rash. The allergy also means that 26-year-old Rachel cannot go for long baths or even drink a cold glass of water as it makes her throat swell up whenever she takes a sip. The condition is so rare it’s believed Rachel is one of on...

A CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY ARRESTED IN NORTH KOREA

North Korea has arrested a 75-year-old Australian man working as a Christian missionary in Pyongyang, according to his family. North Korea is ranked as one of the world’s most oppressive regimes in terms of freedom of religion. A United Nations report issued on Tuesday cited lack of religious freedom in a state whose human rights abuses it likened to those of Nazi Germany. North Korea was faulted this week in a sharply critical United Nations report for, among other things, its intolerance of religious freedom. The report cited the North’s practice of “extermination,” murder, enslavement, torture, rape and persecution on grounds of race, religion and gender. The family said in a press release that John Short was on his second trip to North Korea and was in possession of religious materials that had been translated into Korean. He is the second Christian missionary being held by the North, the other is Kenneth Bae, a South Korean with US citizenship. Karen Short, John’s wife, told ...

THE GIRL WHO CRIED STONES

A little india girl has amazed the world and ofcourse doctors by crying stones instead of tears. The Yemeni girl, 12, produces little hard stones under her eyelids. Doctors said they still could not give an explanation for such a phenomenon since the girl, Saadiya Saleh, is not suffering from any known disease. Unfortunately this triggered a panic in rural areas where they assumed the girl must be possessed by magic. A YouTube film aired by Yemen’s Azal satellite TV channel showed doctors gathered a small box full of stones that dropped out of the girl’s eyes in just a few hours. The local presenter said: “This case in the second strange phenomenon in the region.” “The case has triggered panic in the area where this girl lives… Some say the girl could be gripped by a magic spell while others say it might be the devil… Others fear it could be the start of a dangerous epidemic.”
