CSKA Moscow fans punished

Nyon - Russians CSKA Moscow were on Wednesday hit with a partial stadium ban by UEFA due to racist abuse of Manchester City's Yaya Toure in a Champions League match. In a statement, UEFA said that their disciplinary body had ordered the closure of Sector D of CSKA's Arena Khimki for the club's next Champions League game against Germany's Bayern Munich on November 27. "The fight against racism is a high priority for UEFA. The European governing body has a zero tolerance policy towards racism and discrimination on the pitch and in the stands," UEFA said. Manchester City's captain Toure -- who is from Ivory Coast -- claimed he was the target of racist chanting during his club's 2-1 win in Moscow on October 23. Toure described as "unbelievable and very, very sad" the monkey chants reportedly directed at him by CSKA fans during the game in the Russian capital. Toure, who speaks some Russian after playing two seasons with Ukraine's Metalurg Don

Qatar kick out Zidane statue

Doha - Qatar has removed the Zinedine Zidane headbutt statue less than a month after it went on display following an outcry by conservatives, who slammed the art work as anti-Islam idolisation. The five-metre sculpture which immortalises the headbutt delivered by the French football legend to Italian player Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup final was put on display on Doha's corniche on October 3. But the statue that was sculpted by Algerian-born French artist Adel Abdessemed appears to have offended conservatives in the Muslim emirate, who saw it as a flagrant violation of religious tenets. It was removed on Monday, according to local newspapers. "Congratulations for having new idols," wrote one tweeter sarcastically, as the Arabic hashtag "Zidane's statue in Qatar" triggered massive reaction from dismayed conservatives. "It is sad that our youth see in this art and modernity. Our children do not differentiate between the right and the wrong, or th

How to Eat Before, During and After Exercise

Whether you're an athlete or just starting an exercise routine, it is important to understand nutrition's role. What you eat and drink, and when, can make all of the difference in how you perform, recover and improve. Nutrition for Energy: Eating a balanced diet and getting the proper amount of calories, nutrients and fluids will give you the energy and stamina you need to lead an active, healthy lifestyle. However, it is important to understand what certain types of foods can and cannot do for you. Carbohydrates provide our bodies with energy and therefore are needed before, during and after exercise. The best choices are complex carbohydrates like whole grains including brown rice, whole wheat pastas and breads. Fruits, dairy and vegetables will also provide carbohydrates. While protein is important for muscles, according to the National Institutes of Health and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, it is a myth that a high-protein diet promotes muscle growth. Only exercise and

He said further that government also promised to pay any shortfalls after due verification by the councils of the various universities. Ban on dollar importation

In sanusi's (CBN Governor) voice "I commend the Central Bank of Nigeria on the move to ban the importation of dollars and other foreign currencies. This policy should start with immediate effect. I can’t imagine that a nation like ours till allows some private organisations like hotels allow transactions to be conducted in foreign in the country. If this trend is not contained, it could pose a grave threat to the value of the naira and the nation’s economy as a whole. We need to safeguard the naira and ensure its stability in the face of the aforementioned challenges."

Bill Gates' 11 Rules of Life

BILL GATES' SPEECH TO MT. WHITNEY HIGH SCHOOL in Visalia, California. Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! To anyone with kids of any age, here's some advice. Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world. Rule 1: Life is not fair -- get used to it! Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both. Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping --

25 Things To Do Before You Turn 25

1. Make peace with your parents. Whether you finally recognize that they actually have your best interests in mind or you forgive them for being flawed human beings, you can’t happily enter adulthood with that familial brand of resentment. 2. Kiss someone you think is out of your league; kiss models and med students and entrepreneurs with part-time lives in Dubai and don’t worry about if they’re going to call you afterward. 3. Minimize your passivity. 4. Work a service job to gain some understanding of how tipping works, how to keep your cool around assholes, how a few kind words can change someone’s day. 5. Recognize freedom as a 5:30 a.m. trip to the diner with a bunch of strangers you’ve just met. 6. Try not to beat yourself up over having obtained a ‘useless’ Bachelor’s Degree. Debt is hell, and things didn’t pan out quite like you expected, but youdidget to go to college, and having a degree isn’t the worst thing in the world to have. We will figure this mess out, I think, probabl
