FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBER KILLED 14

At least 14 people have been killed and dozens more injured by a suspected female suicide bomber at a train station in Russia today. Around 50 people are thought to be injured by the blast which occurred in the southern city of Volgograd. It is believed a female suicide bomber is behind the attack which has raised concerns surrounding terrorism ahead of the Winter Olympics next year. A spokesman for Russia's National Anti-Terrorist Committee confirmed the explosion killed 14 people, though local reports indicate as many as 18 lives could have been lost. 'Initial indications are that the blast was set off by a female suicide bomber,' a spokesman said. The remains of a woman suspected as responsible for the attack have been recovered at the scene according to Russia Today. The bomb was the equivalent to at least 10kg of TNT, said to Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin, and was stuffed full with pieces of scrap metal. President Vladimir Putin has reportedly instructed s

WAYS TO INDUCE FOREPLAY

This is exclusively meant for the ladies. I actually hear a lot of ladies complain about how they get very little pleasure during sex. How their men go rounds them without them having any climax. Funny this that they blame it all on their man and call him frigid, traditional, non-creative, non-sensual man. Meanwhile the fault is all on you because the man is not úbermensch, he can't read your mind. I looked up these few tips on how to induce foreplay and here they are: Let him know what turns you on You should know that your man is not a god neither is he a mind reader that he should the spot that makes u loss control. When the man realized she was still alive, he took off his clothes to“gain additional st

LAWS OF ATTRACTION

The creation of our world is bounded by principles and laws. We often overlook the simple things we get from nature and call them mere because we never had to memorize laws like the wizard of oz. As much as we will want to overlook it, the law of attraction works for everything that is acquired or can be acquired. Do you wish to attract someone to yourself? Is there a man or a woman that you like and want them to fall head over heels for you? If yes is your answer, then the seven principles of attraction is your key to success. The seven principles of attraction are seven simple ways that will help you grab anybody’s attention and master the art of attraction. Rule 1- Hide and Seek It's unbelievable how we often get the things we really want but don't chase after. E.g. A gambler hitting jackpot when he unwilling plays with his least note expecting the same old result. If you want a person, never run after them. The more you chase them, the farther they will go away fro

A WOMAN CUT HER HUSBAND'S MANHOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

A banker has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly slitting her husband’s manhood. She was said to have taken that action over his alleged refusal to give her money. The incident occurred about 2am last Monday at their 99, Falolu Street, Surulere, Lagos home. The victim, Olamilekan Idowu Daniji, 34, told The Nation yesterday that his wife of three years, Nofisat, woke him up from sleep on the fateful day, threatening that between them, one person must die. “At first, I thought armed robbers broke into our home because she hit me hard, waking me forcefully. She tore my under-pant and held my private part. Everything was like a movie. And before I could say anything, she cut my private part. When I saw blood I shouted and she said: ‘That is where you will die.’ She abandoned me and fled,” Daniji said. He recalled that two days earlier, his wife, who works in a bank, quarrelled with him over his inability to provide food allowance. He said: “I am

ONE THING YOU NEED TO AVOID IN LIFE

Most people catch themselves frequently falling into the ever-alluring yet emotionally-dangerous trap of comparing themselves to others. According to social comparison theory, we do this in an attempt to make accurate evaluations of ourselves. But at what cost? While comparison can be a valuable source of motivation and growth, it can also spin us into a tail-chasing frenzy of self-doubt. Here are three reasons why you should stop comparing yourself to others. 1) It’s Damaging To Your Sense Of Self Mark Twain said that “comparison is the death of joy,” and the science agrees. Research has found that comparing breeds feelings of envy, low-self confidence and depression as well as compromises our ability to trust others. It requires that we take pleasure in someone else’s failures or misfortunes in order to feel adequate, which can fuel mean-spirited competitiveness versus collaboration; jealousy versus connection. When comparing leads you to devalue yourself or others you’ve entere

A MAN SETS HIMSELF ABLAZE

A 50-year-old Italian man set himself on fire on St Peter’s Square in a rare event on the famous esplanade and is being treated in hospital with burns over half his body, the Vatican and police sources said. The man, who worked as a cleaner in a nearby Vatican-run hospital and had a major family dispute on Wednesday, was seen by police in closed-circuit footage covered in fuel and setting light to his clothes. Before his shocking act, the man left a note on the ground with his daughter’s phone number, police sources said, adding that he may have had health problems. He worked at Santo Spirito hospital near the main Via della Conciliazione avenue to the Vatican and is being treated at another clinic outside the city centre. A Vatican statement says a Jesuit priest initially tried to smother the flames with a jacket. He was later joined by two police officers who used a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze. The agents were treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation and injuries to

THE HISTORY OF MAN'S BEST FRIEND

Ever wondered how man found his best friend Wolves can learn from observing humans and pack members where food is hidden and recognize when humans only pretend to hide food, reports a study for the first time in the open-access journal Frontiers in Psychology . These findings imply that when our ancestors started to domesticate dogs, they could have built on a pre-existing ability of wolves to learn from others, not necessarily pack members. A paper published recently in the journal Science suggested that humans domesticated dogs about 18 thousand years ago, possibly from a European population of grey wolves that is now extinct. But it remains unknown how much the ability of dogs to communicate with people derives from pre-existing social skills of their wolf ancestors, rather than from novel traits that arose during domestication. In a recent study, Friederike Range and Zsófia Virányi from the Messerli Research Institute at the University of Veterinary Medicine

LAUGHTER ALSO COULD KILL

Laughter may not be the best medicine after all and could even harm us, new research has revealed. Despite the known benefits of chuckling, for some people it has proven to be more dangerous than expected. One woman with racing heart syndrome collapsed and died after a giggling fit, say researchers. And laughing "fit to burst" has been found to cause possible heart rupture, a torn gullet and epileptic seizures. A quick intake of breath during laughing can provoke an asthma attack, while some people have suffered from incontinence and even hernias. Researchers from Birmingham and Oxford Universities used data from 1946 to the present day to study the benefits of laughing on the human body. During one test clowns were sent into hospitals to entertain patients. And the results showed a dose of "genuine laughter" for a whole day could help shed the kgs by burning 2,000 calories. And 36 per cent of would-be mums undergoing IVF treatment got pregnant after a visit from th

The story of a man whose hand was grafted to his anke to save it

A man whose right hand was severed in an industrial accident had it sewn to his ankle for a month while he waited to undergo reattachment surgery in China. Doctors at a local hospital initially told Xiao Wei that they would not be able to save his hand, which was cut off by a machine at work on 10 November. Speaking about the accident near Changde in Hunan Province, China, Mr Xiao said "I was just shocked and frozen at the spot, until co-workers unplugged the machine and retrieved my hand and took me to the hospital. "I am still young, and I couldn't imagine life without a right hand." Mr Xiao was referred to a larger regional hospital in Changsha, and arrived seven hours after his accident to find there was hope for his hand yet. He was told that reattachment surgery could be successful - but only after the rest of his right arm had recovered. In order to keep the hand alive during the wait, doctors said they had no choice but to graft it onto his ankle. They told

The smallest part of the brain is responsible for depression

Image
One of the smallest parts of the brain is getting a second look after new research suggests it plays a crucial role in decision making. A University of British Columbia study published in Nature Neuroscience says the lateral habenula , a region of the brain linked to depression and avoidance behaviours, has been largely misunderstood and may be integral in cost-benefit decisions. "These findings clarify the brain processes involved in the important decisions that we make on a daily basis, from choosing between job offers to deciding which house or car to buy," says Prof. Stan Floresco of UBC's Dept. of Psychology and Brain Research Centre (BRC). "It also suggests that the scientific community has misunderstood the true functioning of this mysterious, but important, region of the brain." In the study, scientists trained lab rats to choose between a consistent small reward (one food pellet) or a potentially larger reward (four food pellet

How most parents snoop on their children

As much as parent pretend to allow their children run their lives, the are tempted to check out what their 'angel' are up to lately. Six out of ten parents admit they regularly read their children’s emails, texts and Facebook messages, a study has found. They believe that, despite the invasion of privacy, snooping is necessary to keep tabs on who their children engage with online, researchers say. The study also found one in ten parents have gone as far as to find out their son or daughter’s password, despite their offspring’s best attempts to keep it from them. But, as a result, one in three parents have been racked with guilt after hacking into their child’s email or Facebook account, according to the survey of 2,000 parents of youngsters aged 10-17. One in ten parents have found out their child’s password so they can keep an eye on them. Alex Balan of internet security firm BullGuard, which carried out the survey, said: 'Parents do face a real moral dilemma as to whe

The man who stabbed 22 children in China has been sentenced to death

A knife-wielding attacker who stabbed 22 students at a primary school in China was sentenced to death on Friday, a court said. The Xinyang City Intermediate People's Court said Min Yongjun, 37, was found guilty of intentional homicide and condemned to death, almost a year after he stormed a school in the central province of Henan and slashed dozens of pupils. No-one was killed but 22 children were injured in the brutal attack, which took place on the same day that 20 children were shot dead at a primary school in Newtown, Connecticut, in the United States. Surveillance footage showed Min pursuing a group of panicked children through an unguarded school gate, before a group of adults entered equipped with straw brooms and chased him out. Under Chinese law those who plot or attempt to kill others can be convicted of intentional homicide, even if no-one actually dies. Chinese social media users complained in the aftermath of the attack that domestic media should have given the inciden

Eight relatives were tied up and stabbed to death because of $115 debt over dog stud fee

Seriously, this is weird! This is why you have to know who you owe, if at all you must be a debtor, don't owe a psycho Eight members of the same family, including three children, were murdered over a $115 debt. Grieving neighbours and friends in Juarez, Mexico, are struggling to understand the horrific killing of the religious family in a massacre that prosecutors in this Mexican border city say was over a $115 debt the father couldn't repay. Maximo Romero Sanchez, who worked as a mechanic and fixed and sold used cars, apparently owed money to the killers. Prosecutors said the killers had gone to the family's home a month ago trying to collect a debt that was owed by Romero Sanchez for a $115 stud fee for a dog. At that time, Romero Sanchez said he didn't have the money. When the suspects returned on Sunday and Romero Sanchez once again told them he didn't have the money, the family members were bound, gagged and stabbed to death in their home in a poor neighbor

REASONS PEOPLE SETTLE FOR LESS IN A RELATIONSHIP

Fear of being single is a meaningful predictor of settling for less in relationships among both men and women, a new University of Toronto (U of T) study has found. The results are published in the December edition of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology . "Those with stronger fears about being single are willing to settle for less in their relationships," says lead author Stephanie Spielmann, postdoctoral researcher in the University of Toronto's Department of Psychology. "Sometimes they stay in relationships they aren't happy in, and sometimes they want to date people who aren't very good for them." She adds, "Now we understand that people's anxieties about being single seem to play a key role in these types of unhealthy relationship behaviours" Investigators surveyed several samples of North American adults, consisting of University of Toronto undergraduates and community members from Canada and the U.S. The sa

Parent convicted For Letting Men Have Sex With Their 2-Year-Old Son For Money

An Australian man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after authorities say he and his partner allowed at least eight others to have sex with their young adopted son for money. The 36-year-old man is a resident of Queensland and is not being identified to protect his son's identity. The man pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to sexually exploit a child and to conspiracy to possess child pornography and was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Sarah Evans Barker. His partner, a 42-year-old American who had been living in Australia, was sentenced in June to the maximum 40-year sentence. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sexually exploit a child. According to court documents, the two men became romantically involved in the late 1990s and began trying to adopt an infant boy. The men had been living with the boy in California, where they were able to use falsified records to legalize an adoption, according to court records. Court documents also said the men

A JUDGE DIED WHILE HAVING SEX WITH A CALL GIRL

Western Cape judge president John Hlophe received a fax supposedly from acting judge Patrick Maqubela's "call girl" saying he died while having sex, according to a report on Tuesday. The Star newspaper reported that the State believed the fax was not sent by a prostitute but from Maqubela's wife, Thandi. She is on trial with co-accused Vela Mabena in the Cape Town Labour Court for her husband's alleged murder. The newspaper reported that a former employee at Easi-com Internet cafe in Sunnyside in Pretoria, Patrick Budeli, testified that the fax was sent from their shop at 4.15pm on November 6, 2009. However, Budeli could not remember who the customer was who requested the fax to be sent. According to The Star, in the first four paragraphs of the document, typed in upper-case letters, the writer introduces herself as Maqubela's "regular call girl". "He died while we were having sex. It is as simple as all that," it read. "Why governme

19 YEARS OLD FELL ASLEEP AFTER RAPING A WOMAN

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after falling asleep after raping a woman in a flat in Johannesburg, Gauteng police say. Warrant Officer Xoli Mbele said the woman, 30, met the man she knew on Saturday at 2am, after she returned from a tavern. "He forcefully took her to his flat where he raped her. He fell asleep and the victim ran to a police station," he said. He said the police found him still asleep and he was arrested. He was expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.

FEMALE TEACHER, 27, FOUND HALF NAKED WITH 17 YEAR OLD STUDENT

A teacher who was found half-naked in a parked car with a teenage pupil could be back in the classroom in just two years. Eppie Sprung Dawson, 27, admitted having sex with Matthew Robinson – who was 17 at the time of the offence – and was found ‘unfit to teach’ by a disciplinary panel. Although the English teacher was placed on the sex offenders’ register after admitting her wrongdoing in court and has now been banned indefinitely from her profession, she can apply to be reinstated to the teaching register in two years. Last night, the teenager’s mother said Sprung Dawson had been given little more than a ‘slap on the wrist, not a punishment’. Sheree Robinson, 44, added: ‘If she is potentially allowed to go back to teaching after two years, what is to stop her from doing something like this again? ‘She should not be allowed to teach again, in my family’s view. I think this comes back to double standards and you have to wonder if she were a male teacher whether the door would be left o

DANGERS OF DELAYING MOTHERHOOD TILL 30

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday began seven days fasting and prayer for an end to the lingering Academic Staff of Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) strike. This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by the Public Relations Officer of the corps, Mr Emmanuel Okeh. The statement said that Dr Ade Abolurin, the Commandant General of the corps, directed the officers and personnel of the corps nationwide, to embark on the exercise. It said the corps embarked on the exercise to seek God’s intervention following the deadlock in the talks between the Federal Government and the striking university teachers aimed at resolving the issue. “Worried by the ongoing strike embarked upon by the ASUU, which has resulted in the shutdown of universities since July this year, NSCDC Commandant General has organised a special prayer for the nation. “ The CG has declared seven days fasting and prayers nationwide to seek an ultimate solution to the problem,’’

FASTING AND PRAYER IS DECLARED FOR ASUU STRIKE

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Tuesday declared a three day fasting and prayer to seek divine intervention in the protracted dispute between the Federal Government and the union. The decision to embark on spiritual intervention came during the union congress held at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan. The congress which was presided over by the Chairman of UI chapter of ASUU, Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye, stressed the need for God to help Nigerian leaders to do the needful and document the resolutions of their meeting with the President. The congress which expressed optimism that the strike will end soon listed three prayer points to include: “the need for God to touch the heart of the Federal government to be committed towards funding public education and develop the nation. They also asked God to protect the leadership of ASUU as they travel and that the purpose of the strike is actualized by placing universities in the league of world class institutions.” Speaking

ASUU REMAINS ADAMANT

Lecturers at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) are divided over whether to resume work following the expiration of the Federal Government’s ultimatum. Registers were opened at different faculties of public universities. Most of the registers were empty but at the Faculty of Law, some lecturers had signed up. Over 30 lecturers had indicated interest to begin lectures. A near free-for-all was avoided when members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) attempted to stop one Dr. Godspower Ekhobase of the Computer Science Department from taking his students. Sources said Dr. Godspower refused to listen to the union leadership when they asked him to stop and it led to a fracas. The source said when the students moved to join Dr. Godspower, ASUU members led by its Chairman, Dr. Tony Emina-Monye, beat a retreat. Contacted on the telephone, Dr. Monye said the lecturer was violent when they got to the lecture hall. Dr. Monye said a former chairman of ASUU was gripped on the shirt by D

97 years old rapist declared not fit for trial

A 97-YEAR-OLD man, Lionel Veck, accused of raping and indecently assaulting a child is not fit to stand trial, a judge has ruled. Judge Sarah Munro QC has suspended legal proceedings against retired butcher Lionel Veck, from Preston Road, North End, Portsmouth. He had denied one count of rape and two counts of indecently assaulting a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, between 1972 and 1977 when she was aged under 16. Veck, who was thought to be Britain’s oldest competitive cyclist when he took part in a 10-mile time trial between Havant and Chichester in 2011, was initially found fit to stand trial at a court hearing in September. The decision followed the results of a psychiatric report. But prosecutor Kerry Maylin applied for the proceedings against Veck to be stayed during a brief hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court. The Crown Prosecution Service application was made after a further report assessing Veck’s wellbeing revealed a ‘marked deterioration’ in his mental health. He

DEADLINE IS REACHED BUT ASUU REMAIN FIRM ON THEIR DECISION

If you ask me, this is the height of it. To some this is rebellion, to others this is a refusal to be called fools. As much as these elephants enjoy their fight, the savanna is turning into a desert. Lecturers in Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, have resolved to continue with the ongoing nationwide strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). HOW TO STAY BEAUTIFUL

A Clean skin is a beautiful skin. It is important to always keep the skin free of oil, dirt and sweat to prevent the pores from being clogged and consequently a dull skin.
