16 THINGS THAT WILL IMPEDE YOUR 2016 RESOLUTIONS


It's a new year and a different one at that; everyone wants things done differently this year. We all want to be seen in a new garment of different colors and style. We want to undo our errors in 2015 and perfect our wonderful deeds.
It's the beginning of the year and all things bright and beautiful. Even the sky can't stop our accomplishments but it often doesn't pan out that way at the end of the year. It was the same for last year and the years before. Our beautiful plans become short lived and somehow dont make it to reality.
It is said that once the cause of a thing is known, the effect could averted. Some other common causes of these failed resolutions are listed here:
1.Unwritten resolutions:
When we make our resolutions one thing we fail to realize is that 366 is too long a time to keep those resolutions in mind. Any long-term decision that is not in black and white has only 30% chance of survival because there is always a million reasons to fail but just one to succeed. To accomplish your 2016 resolutions, make sure they are written somewhere only you can have access to them. Make sure u check them at the end of every week to measure your level of success or failure.
2. Keeping old mentality:
Nothing is done differently by reasoning the same way. To accomplish anything different you need to change your thinking. Think in the direction of your resolution and not the old way of last year.
3. Keeping old associates:
The strongest influence next to family is your environment, your peers and the friends you keep. Most bad habits often come from things we observe or learn from people. To be focused on keeping your resolutions you have to keep only friends or associates that make those resolutions come true. You attract people only when you are a success
4. Keeping old habits:
Common resolutions include quitting some habits and inculcating new once. It is true that old habits die hard but they die anyway. For your to accomplish your resolutions you need to quit the habits that will impede you, avoid doing things that will trigger those habits and try inculcating new habit that are in line with your resolutions.
5. Still thinking there is time:
The mistake we make with time is to always think there is more time. Resolutions fail because we often spend most the time rejoicing and celebrating while necessary things are left undone. It is preferable to think in moment than in time, that way you'll achieve more.
6. Fear of what people might say:
One thing with change is that it is often noticed and people react differently to it. Most of the resolutions people make become obvious and people talk about them when they happen. The reality is that people talk whether there is something to talk about or not. The thought of what friends and family might say might abort the birth of your new life; that makes you a murderer.
7.Laziness:
It is impossible to accomplish anything by been lazy. Decisions need drive; drive is the work you put in to ensure your decisions dont remain decisions for life.
8. Procrastination:
One way to make no move is fix your move for tomorrow. You need to realize that time is not is seconds, day, months or years but in moments, you can always Monday to Sunday but a moment wasted is gone forever. Dont murder your resolutions by fixing it for tomorrow. Do what you have to today, tomorrow have its problems to deal with.
